The History Of Freemasonry In Berkshire Aldermaston Lodge L2760 In The Register Of The United Grand Lodge Of England

In May 1924 the Lodge moved from the Hind’s Head Hotel to Aldermaston Village Hall. The hall was designed with several Masonic features and donated to the Parish, by our first Worshipful Master WBro. C.E. Keyser.

By April 1940 the lodge membership had out grown the village hall and so relocated to the Greyfriars Road Masonic Centre in Reading. When the centre was closed in 1969 the lodge met by dispensation at the Henley Road Masonic Hall for one year.

In 1970 the lodge moved once again to the newly opened Berkshire Masonic Centre in Sindlesham.

In 1974 to celebrate seventy five years, for one meeting, the lodge returned to the village hall in Aldermaston, dining at The Old Mill Aldermaston.

This meeting proving popular with the members, it was agreed to be the venue for the August meeting every year until August 2019.

Now all six meetings are held at Sindlesham Court throughout the summer from April to September.
